The Ministry, first established in 1928, is responsible for overseeing the country's engineering projects, including infrastructure, surveying, drafting/designing, construction and supervision. The Ministry is responsible for planning, management and maintaining the country's highways, bridges, roads, streets,  airport, seaport, and all other public infrastructure  in the Republic of Liberia.
